Make no mistake, this is a book for those deeply into the details of unit codes on WWII German aircraft and for whom a "74/75/76 mottle" is immediately understandable. Much of the space is simply lists of codes known to have been carried by given aircraft, the other main part of the text is list of all the units known to have existed - the rest is lots and lots of photographs and drawn profiles of those aircraft. As such, this book would do excellently as a website, where new information can be added continuously.

Nevertheless, this is a well-used volume on my shelf for looking up what unit a particular aircraft may have belonged to, or what markings a given unit may have used at a given time
