Several people have asked for some behind the scenes pictures and information. I am, basically, a one man band, I make masters, moulds, cast the resin, cast the white metal, design the artwork, pack the kits, handle the orders and post them...I have several part time master makers who in their spare time create some of the more stunning work we sell. Last year I attended airshows and model shows countrywide, unfortunately due to my wife Jackies continuing ill health i'll only be at the Nats this year. hence the new all singing website. In fact the only out-sourcing iI do is the decals and their artwork!

Anyway here we go on a quick tour....

the workshop, built on the end of my garage, contains the vacuum chamber for degassing the resin, all the moulds for both the resin and white metal. the centrifuge for spinning the white metal moulds and the melting pot again for the wm.

speaking of white metal, here is the melting pot and the centrifuge. white metal is heated until liquid, then poured into the mould which is pneumatically compressed in the centrifuge as well as rotated. two types of mould are shown. the red mould is made from a rubber compound which sets in air, expensive and easily damaged i use these for prototype work and short runs ( ie the vulcan). once a good set of metal masters are made and polished, they are sent away to be made into a vulcanised ( black mould) these are very expensive but are long lasting and are virtually bomb proof. Final pick shows the metal storage pots. ready for sorting into sets.

as soon as possible i'll photograph the master to kit resin side of the company.....
