This book is the first in a series of 4 volumes that reconstructed photo albums for former Luftwaffe personnel. Printed 20 years following the conclusion of WWII, it gives the reader an overall view of the various types of German aircraft flown within the Luftwaffe including training, liaison/reconnaissance, and fighters. The series is not only a collection of historical photographs, it also offers a wealth of information for historians, collectors, model builders with data that had never been published. This volume was never intended to be a "Jane's Aviation" of all Luftwaffe aricraft built and flown. Only the aircraft series designation will be found in the photo captions and illustrations. The introduction is in German and English, while the remainder of the text is written in German. The English-speaking reader can easily understand the photo captions and can trace the date and place that the photo was taken, name of the pilot and the code of the aircraft. These are photos of German aircraft that were flown only with the Luftwaffe units. Many of the photos reproduced for the first time in this series were originally classified as "Secret" or "Restricted."
